Special Fall Plant Sale
Wednesday, August 17, 2022
Plant Sale: Wildflowers for Wetlands. We have an abundance of potted plants grown locally from local seed. Fall is a great time to plant perennials for pollinators.
One of the District's goals is to conserve natural resources and we do that by promoting propagation and preservation of native pollinator plants with local genotypes (from local seed). This year, we are selling perennial flower plants that are great for pollinators and wetland restoration. These plants were grown from local seeds, preserving our local genotypes, which are better for local pollinators.
We occasionally host a plant sale in the fall. In past years we sold heirloom apple trees that were good cider making varieties, spring bulbs and alliums (garlic & onions).

Late summer and fall is a great time to plant perennials! The soil is warm, yet the nights are getting cooler, allowing the roots to establish before winter, while not overheating the plant.
Cat Swamp Farm located in Unity, NH has been experimenting with growing perennials from native seed. They have been successful at growing Joe Pye Weed, Boneset, Golden Alexanders, Blue Vervain, Willow, and Wild Red Raspberries.
We are hosting this special fall sale to get these great native pollinator and wetland plants into the hands of Sullivan County residents.
Plant Pick-up will be at Cat Swamp Farm, 192 County Farm Road, Unity, NH 03743 any day from 8am - 6pm. Orders will be on the table near the road and clearly labeled. We will notify you by email when your order is ready for pick-up. Need assistance with pick-up, call Chase Tanner at 603-542-3795.
